Two great journeys in the US (both only one day a piece) will stick in my head till the day I die.
In 1996, driving from Sunnyvale to Yosemite in a knackered Honda Integra rented from Rent-A-Wreck so my workmate Cormac could book his camping holiday and then driving back again. Seeing huge swathes of burnt trees from forest fires and El Capitan was something two Irish muckers were unprepared for.
Then in 1998, driving from Vegas to Grand Canyon with my wife, having a quick look, being made speechless, and driving back again.
I love the Irish landscape but we really lack the scale you have over there.
But I guess you have the Rock of Cashel every day which always impresses me.
